Lawyersearch helps businesses and individuals source the right legal advice at the right price to suit their requirements. The Lawyersearch system collects simple data about your legal problem or issue and sends this to our database of registered lawyer affiliates who fit your needs. We email you back a shortlist and you pick the lawyer.

Lawyersearch.com.au is the flagship site of Professionalsearch.com.au Pty.Ltd. Professionalsearch's core business is the provision of b2b e-procurement solutions in respect of professional services, including legal, accounting, IT and PR/marketing services. Professionalsearch's first trading partnerships will go live in January 2001 with f2 (internet arm of Fairfax Ltd) in respect of providing online conveyancing services to www.domain.com.au. Partnerships in small business, employment and workplace relations and personal injury will be announced soon.

Will I be charged to use this service?
No. Clients are not charged when they use the Lawyersearch service.

If and when you choose a Lawyersearch Affiliate to represent you through the site, you will enter into a solicitor-client relationship with that lawyer and may be charged fees by that lawyer.

We receive our revenue as a referral fee from Lawyersearch Affiliates (the lawyer providing the service).

Because the site delivers substantial efficiencies to the lawyers who provide you with the documentation, you stand to benefit from the cost-savings.

Will my personal details and information be kept secure and confidential?
Yes. Your personal details and the information you provide to the site will be kept absolutely confidential until you agree to release it to a lawyer of your choice. This confidentiality is secured by 128-bit strong encryption technology using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) security. This technology scrambles your data into a form of code.

Who provides me with legal advice?
Lawyersearch does not provide you with any legal advice or conveyancing services. It connects you with Lawyersearch affiliates who are qualified lawyers in the jurisdiction that is relevant to you, on the basis of the information that you input into the site.

We only use firms with proven reputations.

If you retain a Lawyersearch Affiliate as your lawyer, the Lawyersearch Affiliate is required by the law to provide you with correct and relevant legal advice on the basis of the instructions and information you give them. You will then have all the rights and benefits of a conventional client/lawyer relationship.

What happens after I fill out the forms with my details?
You will receive a list of lawyers from our network of Lawyersearch Affiliates. These law firms have been selected on the basis of the information you enter into the site. By clicking on the links on this list, you will be able to view a detailed resume of that law firm. This is to help you choose the lawyer with whom you feel most comfortable.

After you choose a law firm, we will send you all the contact details for that law firm. We will also notify the law firm of your contact details. Your information is kept entirely private and confidential by both our site and by the lawyers.

How do we select our affiliate lawyers?
We work only with law firms with established reputations and practices. Quality is important to us, so we verify the details and qualifications of every lawyer registered with our service with the Law Society. Every lawyer who joins our service goes through a rigorous selection process. We check to see whether our lawyers have had a disciplinary charge against them, as well as asking for a number of previous clients as referees.
